Understanding the attack

How do you recognise vishing?

CEO fraud, IBAN fraud, fake technical support: many attacks come by phone. This is vishing, or voice phishing. The attacker calls posing as someone else, with a credible pretext: a travel offer, a product to collect, an urgent correction to make.

To lend weight to the story, they take on the identity of a government agency, a well-known supplier or a company executive. Then they ask: for personal data, for banking or health information, sometimes directly for a transfer.

The phone remains formidable because it leaves nothing to examine. There is no header to check, no link to hover over, no attachment to analyse. Only a voice, pressure and a decision to make right now.

Finance, executives, procurement

Campaigns aimed at the exposed populations

Phone attacks are sophisticated and usually target specific departments: finance, executives, procurement. So we build a scenario that is adapted and targeted, exactly as attackers do. A dedicated team places the calls to the people concerned until results come in, and can send an email or SMS beforehand to make the story credible.

  • Scenarios calibrated to the department targeted
  • Calls placed by a dedicated team
  • Email or SMS support to reinforce the pretext
  • A direct read on your level of vulnerability

Frequently asked questions

Who should a vishing campaign target?
The populations attackers actually go after: finance and treasury for transfer fraud, executives for CEO fraud, procurement for supplier fraud. Unlike email, a vishing campaign addresses a narrow perimeter.
Who places the calls?
A team dedicated to your project, not an automated system. That is what sets vishing apart from other channels: the scenario adapts live to what the person says, exactly as a real attacker would.
What results do we get?
The dashboard reports the answer rate, call duration, the information actually disclosed, and the open and click rates on the supporting email depending on the scenario. You then retarget the people who were caught.
Is this respectful of employees?
Yes, provided the results are treated as a collective measure rather than an individual assessment. We settle that point with you before the campaign, and reporting can stay anonymised.
Is the solution GDPR compliant?
We apply a personal data protection policy in line with GDPR principles. Privacy impact assessments are carried out regularly to maintain a high level of data security day to day. Our AFNOR-certified DPO oversees ongoing compliance, in particular data minimisation and respect for individual rights.
