What is Cyber Month?
Cyber Month is dedicated to cybersecurity awareness. In France, it corresponds to the “European Cybersecurity Month,” which takes place every year in October. This event aims to promote cybersecurity among citizens, organizations, and businesses by highlighting best practices and raising awareness of the threats and challenges of digital security. Cyber Month has existed since 2012, when it was launched by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) in collaboration with the European Commission and the Member States of the European Union.
Cyber Month objectives
- Information: Inform your employees about current cyber threats, the risks to the organization, and the risks they face personally.
- Awareness: Provide educational resources to help employees protect themselves online, particularly through conferences, workshops, games, and training courses.
- Promoting best practices: Share advice and strategies to improve the security of personal and professional information, such as using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and regularly updating software.
Let’s discuss your Cyber Month program
5 event ideas to implement during Cyber Month
A Virtual Reality workshop: The idea is to immerse your employees in a virtual professional environment where they can face cyber risks in an immersive way. This enables users to better understand these risks and avoid them. The “CyberOffice” offering delivers an engaging experience to raise cybersecurity awareness in an educational and fun way.

An interactive online game: It can take the form of an Escape Game or a role-playing investigation game in which you play either a hacker or an investigator. The game can be played solo or in multiplayer mode. This way, it can bring your employees together in small groups via video call, encouraging team cohesion and discussion around the game. You will be able to create leaderboards and certificates based on game results. The Escape Game and the CyberCrime game created by BlueSecure are perfectly suited for online play, allowing you to engage your employees without requiring them to be on site.

A CyberChallenge: The goal is to have your employees or different departments compete against one another. This involves creating a competition to train employees using phishing recognition games, reporting exercises following phishing tests, and more. Following the same team-based approach, creating a competitive spirit will encourage employee engagement. Once again, you will be able to offer leaderboards and award certificates to the most vigilant participants. These games can be spread throughout Cyber Month to create regular engagement, which will support more effective awareness.

Conferences: They are an excellent way to showcase new threats live (face swaps, voice cloning, etc.). In addition, these live demonstrations will have an impact on employees, who will remember how realistic these techniques are. To take awareness even further, you can even ask BlueSecure to create your own Deepfake video featuring a person of your choice (an executive from your organization, one of your employees, a celebrity…)

Phishing tests across different channels: Today, the email channel is so well protected that hackers are turning to other channels such as USB drives, QR codes, and SMS messages. You can leave USB drives around to test employees who plug them into their computers, send phishing SMS messages or QR codes, and more. This exercise will raise awareness and train your teams on a wide range of new threats.
